Go green…lessen your carbon footprint…reduce, reuse, recycle…buy organic & local…plant a garden…start a compost pile…avoid chemicals on your lawn and in your cleaning products…use energy efficient light bulbs and appliances…sustainability…
All of the catch phrases and advice I hear each day make my head spin. I think everyone is striving to leave this earth a little better than when we got here, but sometimes it seems like an uphill battle. It can get a little overwhelming, especially if I focus on all of the areas where I fall short.
Then I get real. Start small. Try to make one change at a time.
Our family has been asked to participate in the Scott Naturals 4-Week Test Drive. In honor of Earth Month, the Scott Naturals brand is challenging Americans to take an easy green step by testing out its line of hybrid paper products: bath tissue, paper towels, flushable wipes and napkins. If every American pledged to use Scott Naturals for four weeks, we would save two million trees.
Here’s where that GIVEAWAY comes in!!!!!
Yes, I’m unusually excited as this is my very first blog giveaway. Thanks to Scott Naturals and TheMotherhood, I get to give away four Scott Natural prize packs — one each week — to a lucky reader. It’s easy! Simply leave a comment sharing one idea, a little step, that your family does/or plans to do to “go green”.
But wait, there’s more!
Take the 4-week Test Drive with me. By clicking THIS LINK, $1 will automatically be donated to the National Wildlife Federation – how easy is that?!?! Once on the site, you can make the pledge, get coupons and enter to win a Ford Fusion Hybrid.
Disclosure: I am being compensated by Scott Naturals and TheMotherhood for my participation in this program; however, my thoughts are my own. I am, indeed, a mom who struggles daily to balance being environmentally conscious with my need for quick, easy solutions.

Our family goes green by participating in recycling. My daughter is in an after school program & we also recycle at our home.

We’re as green as Kermit! Well, not quite, but working on it! Great post Diane!
took the pledge and I use water saving shower head.
I drive a Prius now, and I’m going to be creating a compost pile.
I use reusable shopping bags everywhere, not just the grocery store.
My kids loved this post. It’s “reduce, reuse and recycle” week at school
It’s so hard to tell my family to try and use less toilet paper to go green (afterall, sometimes it’s hard to get the little ones to wipe at all…) So we’re working on decreasing our plastic use, especially trying not to buy plastic bottles of water. Everyone has their own special water bottle now for sporting events, even to use in their lunch boxes…
We’ve gone green with our lunch boxes. We use reusable sports bottles for water, and bento box style lunch boxes that come home to be washed and reused another day!
Great blog!
My tip is to always take reusable bags when you go shopping.
Products sound great! An easy way to go “green!”
i took the pledge. A small step I am taking is using more natural products.
